Many candidates will consider relocation which is fantastic and opens a lot of options for them to find the ideal new next opportunity!
One of the first things we discuss is Cost of Living (COL) and Salary Expectations, particularly if a high COL is on either end of the decision.
If they’re thinking about a higher COL area; are they willing to sacrifice if salary cannot offset the difference?
If the destination has a lower COL area; does the candidate understand that the market may not support their salary level?
It’s important to have an open and realistic discussion with your recruiter … You’ll avoid a lot of heartache and hand-wringing when offer time comes around.
