Are you tired of bad data/bad news? Me too, so here’s some good news from good data
I just realized while reading through another White Paper on COVID how anybody with opposable thumbs can write and/or say anything they want to say about anything. It’s true and if you want proof; count the number of times you hear someone say “Just Google it” in the next 7 days. Why? The phrase has become so imbedded in the vernacular that whatever you “Google”, must be true.
I could write pages just on this subject but I’m not going to.
Instead, I’d like to offer the most recent Employment Situation Report from MRI, based upon the output of the BLS, built on readily, almost universally accepted data. Yes, some decry it as a misrepresentation, instilling too much credit on whoever the current administration might be. Largely, I think their cry is about the data not reading as they’d like … Boohoo.
So, employment grew yet again in August; “employment rose by 1.4 million in August, and the number of unemployed persons fell by 2.8 million to 13.6 million. Both measures have declined for four consecutive months but are higher than pre-virus February by 4.9 percentage points and 7.8 million, respectively. The labor force participation rate increased by 0.3 percentage point to 61.7 percent in August,1.7 percentage points below the February period.”
The point is simple; this is going to be a long recovery and won’t be easy but we ARE recovering!
I’m even pretty sure that if you “Google” this you’ll find the numbers won’t change. Oh, I can promise that the talking heads will find something to talk about to make it sound much worse than it is but the bottom line is that these numbers don’t lie!
