(Senior) Software Engineer

Location: Raleigh-Durham, NC area or Remote

 

Our client is a start-up in the med device space and has given us the exclusive opportunity to fill their needs for a Software Engineer with mid to Senior-level skills. The device includes a disposable and capital component, the latter being the driver for this position. The product addresses the needs of an underserved market that effects up to 80% of the patient population. This device is designed to augment existing tools which require a high degree of subjectivity and can lead to missed and/or misdiagnosis.

 

You must be proficient in C++ programming language and have the ability to interact effectively with the Doctors to develop an interface between system peripherals, doctor and patient, leading to consistently accurate diagnoses.  Top level complexities include high-speed imaging, cloud-connected data collection, machine learning, user interface, and completing Agile Development Stories; all while aiding in the ‘speed-to-market’ process.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintains all of the software stacks; may involve both internal and external support
  • Experienced with QML user interfaces
  • Knows the Linux Operating System’s requirements for a single-board computer and its interface with hardware elements like Wi-Fi, displays, cameras, and input/output
  • Writes and/or understands algorithms for Signal and Image processing in C++
  • Demonstrable experience, effectively working with outside software consultants
  • Collaborates cross-functionally internally with peers in manufacturing, design & development
  • Experienced with the requirements of a QS in a regulated environment, preferably FDA, as the role maintains documentation for validation, verification, design and other components of ISO 13485

REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Software Engineering or other appropriate BS discipline
  2. 3-6 years’ experience writing software in a regulated environment
  3. Very strong, demonstrable problem-solving skills as it relates to coding and programming
  4. C++ programming experience (you will be tested on this during interviewing)
  5. Linux OS and application development on ARM-based single board computes
  6. Generally beneficial experience will include applications development using QT and writing in JavaScript
  7. Prefer experience with Medical Device software development and related processes
