General Manager
Our client has retained us to help them find a GM for one of their contract manufacturing facilities. This list of ‘must haves’ in your background includes: Operations leadership in metal machining, demonstrable success with Process Improvement/Lean, a hands-on entrepreneurial approach, and P&L accountability with notable improvement to the bottom line. Applications experience might be in Medical or Automotive but managing a group who understands the importance of Quality and meeting KPI’s is paramount.
Responsibilities:
- Plans, develops, implements and maintains budgets
- Provides leadership and effectively communicates to multiple disciplines
- Champions process improvement for improved productivity, quality, and reduced cost
- Ensures cross-functional compliance to Quality Standards and, where applicable, Regulatory requirements
- Drives/develops a culture of customer fulfillment – On time, On quality, On budget
- Develops, implements, monitors and posts results for KPI’s
- Creates meaningful reports and presents divisional results to peers and upper management
- Leads by example as an entrepreneurial, hands-on professional
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in a Technical/Engineering discipline
- In-depth knowledge of Contract Manufacturing, machining (e.g. Swiss Style, Milling, & EDM), and light assembly
- Strong foundational knowledge in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma desired
- Familiar with the challenges of High Mix/Low Volume and what it takes to automate processes
- Demonstrable experience with the implementation and tracking/reporting of KPI’s
- Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills
- Understanding of ISO 13485, 16949, and/or 14971
- Skilled in the challenge of engaging staff and customers to a common objective
